Car history: |
This a numbers matching L46 Chevrolet Corvette 350/350 4-Speed, Monza Red with saddle vinyl interior. It still has the tank sticker. It was ordered with the following options: 350 HP turbo-jet V8, Full-Transistor ignition,Engine block heater , (only 824 installed that year), 3.55 positraction rear axle, Soft-Ray tinted glass, AM/FM pushbutton radio. The Corvette hasn't been fully restored & it doesn't need it, but the previous owner did spend over $15,000 in updates to the Corvette, which I have all the receipts. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner in 2006. The previous owner spent over $10,000 at Corvette Sports in Sheboygan Falls, WI from 1988 to 1989 in various updates to the car, for example: Rebuilding of suspension components, Replacing of all bushings, brake lines, fuel lines, etch, Removed all brake components, clean & replaced if necessary, Frame and underside of car was cleaned, primed & painted where necessary. All bumpers rechromed, & new emblems installed if necessary. Some of the updates I performed for the Corvette are as follows: New carpet, New leather seat covers from Corvette America, Side exhaust system from Corvette America, New parking brake console from Corvette America, New tires, New sill plates, New side louvers, New T-top weatherstripping. This car is very sound mechanically, it can be driven anywhere. The transmission shifts smoothly & flawlessly. No issues with the engine or rear end. All the gauges work except for the clock & odometer. I put in new seat foam & had the seats recovered in leather instead of the vinyl but kept the original color. This Corvette still has the ORIGINAL unused Goodyear spare tire. The paint is in good shape, there's a few chips here & there but nothing where it needs repainted unless you want to. No body damage. I kept the original exhaust tips when I added the side exhaust. At the end of cruising season last year the headlights stopped flipping up & down with the headlight switch but worked fine with the override switch pulled. I have the Custom Autosound speakers just lying in the back, they can be easily removed. I had a Custom Autosound hidden radio wired in over the summer but I removed it prior to winter storage. The original AM/FM radio still works & it still has the original floor mats. The smog system is fully functional & it has its original smog pump, which was rebuilt by Bill Hodel. The engine still retains its original carb, air cleaner, distributor, intake manifold, ignition shielding, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, & radiator. I had the carburetor rebuilt by Woodruff Performance Carburetors. I also installed a new gas tank & sending unit so as to save the tank sticker from possible damage. I also had the exhaust manifolds blasted & painted. The only non-original item on the engine is the throttle cable, which I planned on replacing before spring. The T-tops & back window are easily removed & reinstalled. This is an excellent example of an all original L46 Corvette since it still has all of its original components. I forgot to add this about the interior. The interior is in great shape, only two small flaws. The one seatbelt plastic cover has a broken edge about the size of a nickel and the trim around the rear storage compartments has a few cracks but still looks good. Other than those, the interior looks great. The Corvette also retains all of its original glass with no cracks or bad scratches. VIN might not be correct; Deduction from TP and TS. Color codes from the trim plate. Assembly date is K23. $18,599,99 and runing. February 4, 2014. |
